LED lighting industry enters mature stage

2019-10-21

According to the roadmap for China's phase out of incandescent lamps released by the national development and Reform Commission in 2011, the sale and import of incandescent lamps for general lighting of 15 watts and above are prohibited from October 1, 2016. With the traditional incandescent lamp coming out of the historical stage, LED lighting, known as the "light of the 21st century", will also enter the mature stage of the industry.

Led becomes the leading role of lighting

Yu Da Ye of Beijing has an old-fashioned desk lamp, but it has been idle in the corner because he can't buy the right bulb.

"The opening for the light bulb is the hanging opening. We need the previous glass bulb, but the supermarket can't find it." Yu told me.

The author then came to chaoshifa supermarket in front of his home to find out.

"Are you looking for incandescent lamps? Supermarkets didn't sell them for several years. That kind of light bulb is thermal. It's hot after a while, and it's not durable. " The saleswoman of chaoshifa told me.

In fact, not only in chaoshifa, but also in many supermarkets in Beijing, incandescent lamps are nowhere to be seen. Although there are still two months to go before the final deadline, the incandescent lamp with a history of more than 130 years has already faded out of people's vision unconsciously.

The reason why incandescent lamp quickly "retreats to the mountain forest" is not only that it is not durable, but also that it is a big energy consumer.

It is understood that most incandescent lamps will convert 90% of the energy consumed into useless heat energy, and only less than 10% of the energy will become light. As for the lighting time, experts say that incandescent lamps usually have a service life of no more than 1000 hours.

At the same time that the traditional incandescent lamp is about to leave the stage of history, LED lighting industry has also entered people's vision.

I see in the supermarket that there are all kinds of LED lights for customers to choose. "This is led spherical lamp, which can save 80% energy." The salesman introduced to the author.

According to reports, LED is a semiconductor device that can convert electric energy into light energy. Compared with traditional light source, LED light source has many advantages, such as energy saving, environmental protection, safety, firmness, small size, long life, rich color and so on.

"Led consumes less power and can operate at high frequency. When used for the same lighting effect, the power consumption is one thousandth of the traditional light source and one half of the fluorescent tube." Tang Deming, chairman of Shenzhen Zhongdian south, told the author.

At the same time, LED light source has a long service life, small volume and light weight, can withstand high-strength mechanical shock and vibration, and is not easy to break, with an average life of 5-10 years, which can greatly reduce the maintenance cost of lamps and avoid the hard work of changing bulbs frequently.

"Because most of the original devices and materials of LED lighting can be recycled and reused without harmful or toxic substances, it plays a good role in protecting our ecological environment and greatly improves the comprehensive recycling of resources." Said Tang Deming.

LED application scope gradually expanded

Chen Xingying, member of the CPPCC National Committee, has been paying attention to the development of LED industry for many years. In his proposal, he suggested that led lighting should be an important entry point for energy conservation and emission reduction. Compared with the lamps commonly used in urban lighting, LED lighting has the advantages of energy saving and environmental protection, so it is the general trend to replace the traditional lighting source with semiconductor LED light source.

In 2012, the State Council allocated 2.2 billion yuan to support the promotion of energy-saving lights and LED lights; the Ministry of Commerce launched the energy-saving demonstration of Baicheng QianDian; the national development and Reform Commission and other six ministries jointly issued the semiconductor lighting energy-saving industry plan.

Under the promotion of national policies, LED industry in China has also ushered in great development. At the same time, its application scope has been expanding. It has gradually developed from the earliest monochromatic signal indication to explosion-proof light, traffic signal indication, automobile lighting functional elements, widely used in digital products such as mobile phones, automobiles and other fields, and constantly expanded the application scope of LED.

"Take led explosion-proof lamps for example. Since the 21st century, with the rapid development of China's petroleum, chemical industry, mining industry and other industries, lighting lamps are more and more widely used in production, storage and rescue, with more and more varieties. It is very important to prevent accidental explosion of lighting lamps in explosive gas dangerous places. Led explosion-proof lamp is not only safe, but also can save at least 80% of energy consumption and save more than 80% of electricity cost compared with traditional explosion-proof lighting. " Said Tang Deming.

It is predicted that in the next few years, the demand scale of China's special lighting field, such as explosion-proof lamps, will continue to expand, the market demand for main products will grow steadily, the growth rate of large capacity and intelligent complete electrical equipment will reach more than 20%, and the explosion-proof lamps and led explosion-proof lamps in the industrial lighting field will gradually become the first trend in the special lighting field.

A group of data shows that from 2006 to 2014, the overall market size of China's LED industry increased from 35.6 billion yuan to 350.7 billion yuan, with an average compound growth rate of 33%. It is predicted that the annual compound growth rate of LED market scale will remain above 30% from 2015 to 2017, and the LED market scale in China will reach 748.5 billion yuan by 2017, with huge market potential. China has become the manufacturing base of global lighting products.

Let innovation replace "price war"

Despite the huge market potential, the lack of core technology in LED lighting industry is still an indisputable fact.

Although China's LED industry has developed rapidly, formed a large industrial scale, and still has a huge market potential, but the lack of core and key technologies, as well as the scattered, small and disorderly industrial organization structure still restricts the improvement of China's LED industry's international competitiveness. Industry experts said.
